Step 1
Predict
Show a full Moon image or the Earth-Moon still. Ask: at this same moment, if someone stood on the Moon and looked back, what would Earth look like?
A 6-10 minute prediction, reveal, and hand-model activity for teaching observer-dependent phases.
This page uses the Earth-Moon case only. The wider Moon Dweller series is an artistic transfer set, but first teaching use should begin with one anchor relation: from Earth the Moon is full; from the Moon, Earth is new and dark.
Ask the prediction before showing the loop. The video is the reveal, not the explanation.
Use this as a classroom starter, planetarium pre-show, museum-floor interaction, library science event, or online outreach explanation.
Step 1
Show a full Moon image or the Earth-Moon still. Ask: at this same moment, if someone stood on the Moon and looked back, what would Earth look like?
Step 2
Show the Earth-Moon loop. State the teaching sentence: Full Moon here means New Earth there.
Step 3
Use a lamp and two balls. Return to Sun, object, and observer geometry. Freeze at full Moon and new Moon positions.
Do not show the full six-card sequence as the first teaching screen. Begin with Earth-Moon only. Introduce one transfer card later only after the anchor relation is understood.
These files match the current JCOM-style Practice Insight framing: design-informed, not evidence-backed; ready for formative testing; Earth-Moon first.
The Earth-Moon asset is the literal astronomy anchor. Non-Earth cards in the wider public series are artistic transfer prompts, not scale models or equivalent physical cases. The recommended label is: Artistic transfer prompt, not to scale, for observer-position reasoning only.
Dark Earth means phase illumination from the Moon observer position, not moral, mystical, or psychological darkness. Strong contrast is used for legibility; ordinary Earthshine and photometric surface brightness are simplified because the teaching target is the anti-phase relation.

Feedback welcome
Brief practitioner feedback is useful: Is the sequence clear? Would you use the loop? Does the fading rule reduce confusion? What would stop adoption?
